InfinixHot 8 Pro Review. Infinix Hot 8 Pro is much faster than its predecessor, it runs on an Helio P22 (12nm) Octa-Core 64-bit processor which has a CPU speed of 2.0GHz for a great performance. For better performance, this device operates on XOS 5.0 cheetah which is the latest AndroidTM 9.0 Pie.
Infinix is really out there to impress. Their releases, no matter the price range, offer a set of specs with an appealing value. That’s something we’re seeing on the new Infinix HOT 20S. On paper, this device sure is a stunner. For a price of under Php10,000, it managed to offer a fast and enormous screen, gaming-centric processor, a flashy design, sharp cameras, and large battery. Now the question is, do they really translate into an awesome smartphone experience? We find out in our Infinix HOT 20S review. Android 12, XOS Dual SIM, Dual standby FHD+ IPS display, 2460 x 1080 pixel resolution, 396ppi 120Hz refresh rate MediaTek Helio G96 octa-core processor Mali-G52 GPU 8GB RAM 128GB internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 1TB 8-megapixel front camera, LED flash 50-megapixel f/ + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel rear cameras, quad-LED flash Side-mounted fingerprint scanner Stereo speakers HSPA+, 4G LTE WiFi a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band Bluetooth FM radio GPS, GLONASS USB Type-C Dimensions x x Weight 202g Colors Tempo Blue, Light-Rider White, Fantasy Blue 5,000mAh non-removable battery, 18W fast charging Design and Build Quality Every Infinix phone we’ve seen recently was bang for the buck. Even if it’s a budget device, the company goes out of its way to make sure it looks good. What we have here is the Free Fire edition, although the branding only applies on the interface, not on the device itself. The unit that we have here is the Sonic Black color, which has a shiny glass-like surface that’s made of plastic. It also has a sunray-like pattern that looks more distinct as it reacts to light. The patterns start from the camera area, which has two large circles and a single small one. It’s a similar look to other handsets we’ve seen that no longer have the usual camera island. This model can also be had in Light-Rider White, Fantasy Purple, and Tempo Blue. Select markets will also get the special Neon Edition, which has a color-changing design that reveals the HOT logo as it absorbs light. The Infinix HOT 20s has a boxy design. But unlike the new iPhones and other similarly-looking devices, it has chamfered edges, which is quite annoying in the hands. For a more comfortable grip, you might want to use the free clear case in the box, which also protects the shiny back panel from fingerprint smudges. In addition, while we do appreciate the large screen, the device feels really huge. It’s tall and thick. It also weighs 202g, which is a bit on the heavier side. You can get used to it, but you’d definitely feel tired when using it single-handedly. Overall, the build is really robust and sturdy. It also comes with a screen protector pre-applied for extra protection since Infinix didn’t mention Corning Gorilla or any glass protection. Speaking of which, what we have here is a display, with a punch-hole for a cleaner look. It has thin bezels resulting that makes better use of space. There’s also the earpiece on top that also works as the second loudspeaker for a stereo setup. The left side has the hybrid SIM card slot, while on the right we have the volume controls and the fingerprint scanner that doubles as a lock/power button. Both the volume up and down controls feel satisfyingly tactile and clicky. The flat power button is not so much, but it gets the job done. The top is clean, while the bottom has the USB Type-C port, headphone jack, built-in microphone, and the primary loudspeaker. Display and Audio The Infinix HOT 20S has a FHD+ IPS display, with a 2460 x 1080 pixel resolution, 396 pixels per inch, and 120Hz refresh rate. At this price, we really can’t be picky about displays. Still, Infinix stepped up. The IPS panel offers good quality with nice colors and contrast. The large screen also makes content and gaming more immersive and gives more room for multi-tasking and reading. Although, the 120Hz refresh rate is barely noticeable. Due to its midrange chip, it doesn’t feel really smooth and we’ve seen flagship phones with more powerful chipsets that are a whole lot smoother despite only having 90Hz panels. The dual speakers are good, though. They are not the loudest, but they are audible enough. Also, having a large screen means the two speakers are separated well enough, creating a distinct stereo separation. Hardware and Performance The Infinix HOT 20S is powered by a gaming-centric MediaTek Helio G96 octa-core processor, with a Mali-G52 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage that’s expandable up to 1TB via the microSD card slot. Infinix HOT 20S benchmark scores It’s definitely not the fastest around, and as I’ve said earlier, it’s not powerful enough to take full advantage of the 120Hz refresh rate. Still, the performance is quite satisfactory. We don’t notice any lagging when taking pictures, browsing social media apps, downloading files, and whatnot. Call of Duty Mobile graphics settings Games also ran fairly well on this device, as long as you’re fine with medium graphics settings. It did get warm a bit after a while, but nothing too alarming. Overall, we’re satisfied with the performance we got with the HOT 20S. Related Realme price list in the Philippines 5G smartphones in the Philippines TECNO Mobile products pricelist HONOR smartphone prices in PH Xiaomi products in PH Software and User Interface The Infinix HOT 20S ships with the Android 12 operating system with XOS 12. This is the Free Fire version, so we’re getting a pretty aggressive special theme out of the box. If you feel like it’s too much like we do, you can switch to the standard look in the settings menu. Everything else looks fairly clean. The control center has large buttons for quick controls, with sliders for the volume and screen brightness. There’s also a card below that lets you easily control other devices like smart home products. The farthest desktop page has your most-used apps, steps counter, phone usage, and other cards like important news. Infinix also included a dedicated Privacy Analysis and Privacy Protection in the settings. Smart Scenes is also available under AI assistant that shows events, flight services, and other recommendations based on usage scenarios. The device also has tons of other features under the Special Function tab in the settings. There’s the lightning multi-window, MemFusion that virtually increases the memory, game mode, XClone for multi-account management, kids mode, and more. Power Marathon is also here to increase battery life. Oddly enough, unlike other brands, Infinix doesn’t have a dedicated Performance Mode. Out of the box, it uses Google Keyboard that’s easy to type on and has quick access to GIFs, emoticons, and more. The camera app is fairly clean, albeit it doesn’t have a standard photo mode other than “AI CAM”, which is annoying if you don’t want AI meddling with your shots. Overall, the interface is pretty intuitive. But take note that the special Free Fire interface isn’t for everybody. Camera Quality The Infinix HOT 20S has a sharp 50-megapixel main camera and two 2-megapixel sensors. We wish Infinix just went with a dual-camera setup and made the latter ultra-wide, which could’ve been more useful. On the front, there’s an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. That said, the main camera takes sharp images, no surprises there. They are fine and worth sharing online, although the colors look a tad bit washed out, and the contrast could be better. Low-light images are surprisingly good. They capture a lot of detail, especially when you use the Night Mode, which takes a long-exposure shot for brighter night images. 50-megapixel main camera 50-megapixel main camera 50-megapixel main camera 50-megapixel main camera 50-megapixel main camera 50-megapixel main camera Night mode The 8-megapixel selfie camera, then again, is not the best. We’ve seen other devices with a similar sensor that take better images. Skin tones are a bit all over the place and the sharpness and details are quite failing. Still, it’s useable for casual snaps and video calls. 8-megapixel front camera 8-megapixel front camera 8-megapixel front camera For its price, the HOT 20S takes decent images. But then again, don’t expect to be blown away by its quality. Battery life and charging The Infinix HOT 20S has a 5,000mAh battery, which is standard in entry-level and midrange phones today. We ran PC Mark’s battery test that loops synthetic workloads until the battery drops to 20%. We did that with the WiFi and Bluetooth off and the volume and brightness at 50%. Under these circumstances, the Infinix HOT 20S was able to get a screen-on time of 14 hours and 12 minutes — one of the best scores we got on any smartphone. This means that it should easily last you for an entire day of light to moderate use, with still a little juice left for the next day. Heavy gamers and binge-watchers can also enjoy this device for 6 to 8 hours or even more. The device then comes with an 18W charging adapter which is, again, a standard on devices of this caliber. Fully charging the HOT 20S will take around an hour and a half. Connectivity Infinix included dual-band WiFi 5 on the HOT 20S, as well as Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, Android Auto, HSPA+ and 4G LTE mobile connectivity, and USB Type-C with OTG. All of them worked during our tests. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have 5G and NFC, but I guess that’s too much to ask for the price. Verdict The Infinix HOT 20S, especially this Free Fire edition that we got, is really made for gamers and entertainment junkies on a budget. It has capable performance, an enormous display, stereo speakers, reliable battery life, and an aggressive special interface. But being a budget smartphone, it’s no surprise that it didn’t get everything right. For one, we wish the camera took better photos, and the midrange CPU wasn’t able to take full advantage of the fast display. Still, for its price, the Infinix HOT 20S is one of the most feature-packed phones you can get in the market today. O Hot 11S fica um pouco acima da maioria de seus concorrentes no varejo nacional, onde é encontrado numa faixa de R$ até R$ dependendo da o Infinix Hot 11S infinixhot12pro#hot12pro#hot#12pro#mobile#jsocialnetinfinix hot 12 pro launched in india =====Welcome Unknown to many, Infinix Mobility added another S Phone to the category and it is with no much different but the specifications and features are incredible and worth buying. Redmi Smart Band Pro and Infinix Note 12 5G series makes debut in India: Sale starts from July 15. Infinix has launched two new budget smartphones in
India has become a preferred market for smartphone manufactures in the past few years. If you head out to buy a new smartphone you get a plethora of options to choose from. And it's the Chinese companies which have got a stronghold for their budget offerings. Infinix is one such brand which has been focusing primarily on affordable company announced the Hot 9 series back in May this year. The Hot 9 Pro is the high-end model in the new series. The device is packed with some modern features such as a punch-hole display, 48MP quad-rear cameras starting at Rs. 10, segment is majorly dominated by brands like Xiaomi and Realme; however, Infinix is also marking its presence with frequent product launches. Does the company match steps with the other players with the new launch? Let's find out in this review Infinix Hot 9 Pro Design And Display Off late, smartphone manufacturers have been heavily bent towards designing a smartphone with gradient rear panel. What they fiddle around is with the patterns and texture and camera alignment. The same is the case with the Hot 9 Pro. It offers a gradient rear panel with geometric patterns that gives it a distinct look. The quad-rear camera setup is housed inside a vertical rectangular module on the top left corner. There is a fingerprint scanner as well on the back panel. On the left edge, the device houses the SIM card tray, while on the right panel it stores the volume and the power keys. At the bottom, the device accommodates a speaker grill, a microUSB port, and a headphone jack. That said about the design, the device feels a bit bulky to hold. This is without any case or cover. Its big form factor makes it difficult to operate with a single hand. You will be able to do the basic tasks like answering/making calls and web browsing but would need to use both the hands for any extensive task. It has a slippery design which is why we would suggest you use both hands while usage. The rear panel also picks up fingerprints with ease so you will need to wrap it with a case or cover. Coming to the front, the device adorns a big LCD display. It has 209 aspect ratio and delivers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. It has a punch-hole which is placed on the top-left corner. The bezels are thin; except for the chin. The display is decent in colour reproduction and the viewing angles are also fine. It has sufficient brightness level under direct sunlight. But, you struggle a bit if the sunlight is too harsh. Since it is an HD+ panel, you will be able to stream only 720P videos online. But, the big panel size makes up for the missing high-resolution support and you will enjoy watching videos on-the-go. Infinix Hot 9 Pro Hardware And Battery Performance Infinix has used the entry-level MediaTek Helio P22 processor to power the Hot 9 Pro. While the company has focused on the remaining aspects, this is where we feel the device lacks. The smartphone comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It has a dedicated card slot which supports up to 256GB microSD card. The device performs well with basic tasks and you won't feel any lag with browsing, HD video playback, and web browsing. Since it is powered by a low-end chipset, don't expect any exceptional performance with gaming' specifically the high-end games such as PUBG. You will find the device heating up and can also experience some lags. The device is powered by a beefy 5,000 mAh battery which is sufficient for a back up close to an entire day. This includes occasional media playback including HD videos, web surfing, and calling, etc. But, the device doesn't come with any fast charging support. It ships with a 10W charger and takes approximately two hours for a complete refuel. The slow charging speed is another disadvantage here. Infinix Hot 9 Pro Software And Benchmark Performance The device runs on Android 10 OS and has an XOS 6 user interface. The UI is not that appealing at the first look and seems dated. And also, it has some pre-installed bloatware. You can swipe up on the home screen to pull up the app drawer. You will also be able to see a smart panel on the right edge of the screen using which you can perform multiple tasks such as record screen, take screenshots, and add more apps for quick access. We also ran several benchmark tests on the smartphone. In the 3D Benchmark's Sling Shot Extreme test, the device logged 400 points. This was with the CPU clocking at In the PC Mark benchmark test, the device scored 5374 points in the Work performance test. We also ran the AnTuTu benchmark test on the device where it achieved 30208 points. Infinix Hot 9 Pro How Do the Cameras Perform? The Inifinix Hot 9 Pro features a 48MP primary camera at the back panel which has an f/ aperture. There is a set of 2MP sensors for macro and bokeh effects with an f/ aperture. Also, there is a dedicated low-light sensor. The camera app's UI is similar to what we have seen on the previous Infinix smartphone. The rear camera captures 12MP pixel-binned shorts by default and you can toggle to 48MP shots from the home screen of the camera app. The device also supports HDR, Beauty, AI Cam, panorama, and AR Shot shooting models. Also, the camera app is integrated with Google Lens. The camera is decent when it comes to performance. The primary setup at the rear is capable of capturing good amount details. This is when there is ample light all around. The dedicated macro sensor allows you to capture super-macro shots, while the depth lens allows for bokeh effects. The effects are not that great and there is a certain level of noise in the macro shots. The bokeh effect also could have been better as the background blur seems less effective with the final shot. While the device comes with a dedicated low-light sensor, its performance is average with low-light shots. The images have noticeable noise and they also appear a bit grainy. There is a 13MP selfie camera packed inside the punch-hole upfront. The front camera can also capture software-based portrait shots, but, don't expect it to be super great. The selfies are decent for social media uploads, but not that great in terms of detailing. The front camera also has a wide-selfie mode. But its more of like panorama shot as you need to press the shutter and slowly move around as indicated on the screen for the camera to capture the surrounding area. Infinix Hot 9 Pro Is It Worth A Buy? The Infinix Hot 9 Pro has all the basic elements that allow it to be a basic daily driver, but with a modern look. Its tall HD+ display makes it good for watching 720p videos, while the 48MP camera does a fine job in imaging. What this device lacks is a good processor. The MediaTek Helio P22 is an entry-segment chipset and the company could have used a high-end processor to power the unit. This is because the company has priced this device at Rs. 10,499 price tag which seems to be a bit on the higher side. At this price range, the market has some other good options to offers such as the Realme Narzo 10A and the Redmi Note 8. Infinix has a trio of the new handset for the Filipino consumers. We already review the Note 3 Pro and Hot 4. This time around, we’re looking at the Hot S Pro. It’s a sub-Php7k smartphone with a display, LTE, and an octa-core chipset. It also boasts an aluminum back panel for added premium. Here’s our review. Design and ConstructionDisplay and MultimediaOS, Apps, and UICameraPerformance and BenchmarksCall Quality and ConnectivityBattery LifeConclusion Design and Construction The Hot S Pro has a no-frill design with its candy-bar angular chassis. It’s got a HD display resulting to a 282ppi pixel density. It may not break the 300ppi barrier but the smaller display size is a great option in the sea of large smartphones. Above the panel is a prominent 8-megapixel front-facing shooter and its earpiece along with hidden sensors. It uses three capacitive keys below for phone navigation and right side of the phone houses the volume rocker and the power/lock button while the left has the hybrid card tray. It allows you to have two SIM cards at the same time or opt the second slot for a microSD card for more storage top side has the headphone jack leaving the micro-USB to be located at the bottom flanked by grilled holes for the loudspeaker and back of the phone has a subtle class when we first saw it. It’s a generic-looking rear panel but the curved edges have a certain appeal to our eyes. Like most phone nowadays, the rear is made of aluminum with plastic divisions on top and bottom. The rear camera is a 13MP sensor with phase-detection autofocus and has a dual-LED flash to help in low-light scenarios. A circular fingerprint sensor is also present for added security to the we’re pretty impressed about the appeal of the Hot S. Although, we hoped that Infinix also graced it with a metal frame to add more premium to its construction and maybe consider a different set of icons for the navigation keys, something that compliments the style of the and Multimedia The display of the handset measures inches diagonally. Making it one of the few phones that can be comfortably used with one hand. It’s got a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels or roughly 282ppi. It’s reasonably sharp with pleasing color reproduction and wide viewing speaker positioned at the bottom end of the phone is just mono but its volume is adequate to fill a small room. It’s clear and loud for YouTube playback or long Spotify Apps, and UI The Hot S Pro ships with Android Marshmallow but it’s heavily skinned by Infinix with the XOS Chameleon Before you get discouraged by having a skin on top, we’re happy to see the phone performs smoothly throughout the system. The phone has swift animations and added UI elements to liven it up. To be honest, it’s refreshing to the eyes rather than uninspired stock Android by other other Chinese phone skins, XOS keeps the app drawer available. Apps are listed alphabetically for easy search. There are a number of home-baked utility apps pre-loaded on the phone and all of them are called X — XCloud, XHide, XManager, XPower, etc. We guess if “i” is to Apple, “X” is to Infinix? The operating system takes about 6GB of the precious 16GB internal storage. Good thing you can pop in a microSD card if you want more space for your apps and The handset sports a 13-megapixel autofocus rear and an 8-megapixel front-facing cameras. Infinix boasts a home-baked camera launcher rather than stock. It’s generally friendly and offers different shooting modes including manual shooters capture quality images. The rear camera performs great when there’s a lot of light available. Shooting in low-light drastically degrades the image quality so it’s best to have a strong source of light or use the dual-LED flash. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, captures detailed selfies and also works in the dark thanks to its dedicated front LED flash. Here are some samples As for the video, it can capture 1080p in .mp4 or .3gp format. The captured clip looks great when previewed on the device but when transferred to the PC, the video lacks details to reasonably qualify as a quality Full HD video. Here’s a sample You can also turn on the stabilization feature for video but it doesn’t help much when walking but reduces the shakes when and Benchmarks The chipset on the Hot S Pro is not the latest but it’s one of the most common and tested silicon on similarly priced handsets. The octa-core MediaTek MT6753 is still a favored chipset but it’s already getting old. The Mali-T720 MP3 GPU can take a beating with new games on the Play Store and the paired 3GB RAM will suffice for multi-tasking open fast but loading of intensive titles takes a bit of time. Nothing serious though as everything is perfectly fine for its range. The light UI also helps with swift animations and transitions. So far, we’d recommend it for those who do stuff on their phone really quick. We ran our usual benchmark tests but Quadrant Standard gave an odd are the benchmark scores AnTuTu Benchmark — 34463 PCMark — 3493 Work 1960 Storage Vellamo — 2381 Chrome, 930 Metal, 1372 Multicore Quadrant Standard — 2976 Score is too low 3DMark — 199 SlingShot ES 299 SlingShot ES Call Quality and Connectivity One of the overlooked aspects when it comes to prime budget devices is call quality and wireless connection. Some OEMs just don’t pay attention to make calling good on a phone. We’re pleased that we managed to make decent calls after using the Hot S as a daily driver. Although, it could benefit more with a louder for wireless connectivity options, the handset offers fast LTE, Bluetooth and stable Wi-Fi. The lack of 700MHZ or Band 28 support For the Southeast Asian version is a bit of a let down though as we are already seeing it on a number of new devices from local Life A 3000mAh non-removable battery powers the handset. It’s a respectable capacity for its size but hoped Infinix pushed for more. With the PCMark battery test Work it was able to score 7 hours and 49 mins. A video loop test gave it a similar 7 hours and 42 minutes. Those numbers are average but you might want to keep a charger or a power bank with the supplied 5V 2A charger, you can fuel the phone to 24% in 30 mins and 100% in about 2 In the end of the day, the Infinix Hot S Pro is going to be a smartphone one would appreciate thanks to its refreshing UI and balanced performance. It’s also pocketable than most smartphones today due to its smaller than usual just Php6,990, the Hot S makes itself an easy choice for budget consumers who wants a better performing smartphone for everyday use.
